Meet Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Saviour Zuowen Yu.

Under the influence of his father, who is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine professor in China, Zuowen (his patients often call him Dr Yu respectfully) started his early education in this field when he was only 5 years old. When Zuowen was 15, he was chosen as one of a few to enter Shaonianban,a special programme for gifted youngsters, at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is an 8-year full-time programme, which included curriculum from Chinese medicine to western medicine, from acupuncture to herbal medicine, from practical skills to ancient classics. He started his practice in Qingdao Haici hospital in 1993. Later on, he completed his Master and PhD study, focusing on rheumatology and immunology. During his PhD programme, because of his excellent achievement, he won a scholarship from Hongkong Qiu Shi Science and Technologies Foundation in 2003. Zuowen came to the UK in 2004, and we are absolutely delighted to have him join the team here at Saviour Skin Spa.

Acupuncture & Herbs | Menopausal symptoms

Mrs Cash

I had been taking HRT for almost 20 years, and decided that it was something I must stop using, but every time I stopped taking the tablets I went back to where I was when I first started the menopause. Mood swings, hot and cold flushes and night sweats, feelings of panic etc. I decided to see if acupuncture could do anything for me, and I made an appointment with Dr. Yu who felt that he could perhaps help me. We started acupuncture and together with a mixture of Chinese herbs began treatment. After a period of about 3 months the symptoms have, although not completely gone, been reduced to an acceptable level. No more feelings of panic, and the hot and cold flushes and night sweats have been reduced considerably. My concentration also seems to have improved. My husband has also been seeing Dr. Yu for back problems and his symptoms have been greatly improved following treatment. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Yu who is always sympathetic to whatever symptoms you bring to him and only too willing to help.
